Secret to Catching Lots of Fish
June 18, 2009

I found this sage advice at Andrew Gable’s post entitled Sketchbook Stories: I thought getting effective with drawing was much like fishing – Those who catch the most fish, I bet, have their hook in the water the most – thus, I am working on getting my pencil on the paper as much as possible.
Andrew you took the words right out of my mouth! Meanwhile, back to fishing ….

You could try worms. More fish are caught with them than colored pensils I think.

Bill, Are you doubting my fishing abilities? Why if you saw the one I had on the line just the other day, that was the biggest fish I ever saw. Was wondering how I was going to tie that sucker to the hood of the car, when darn it, he got away. But I’m getting my pencils sharpened and I’m going back after him …. AK

Are you still off Zening about catching/drawing fish? Get that pastel back in the water please.

You are very sweet, Bill, but sometimes we have to be patient. Don’t want to scare the fish!
Actually, I was taking a wee break to redecorate a bit — doing the whole Phyllis Diller bi-centenial household management thing — and then while I was busy doing that — my kid broke her arm while bike riding so I’ve been spending my discretional time counting ceiling tiles at the ER.
My bumper sticker, however, dutifully says “I’d rather be fishing.”
I’ll try to get back at it as soon as I can!
